A few weekends ago we all went to Natchez Trace, well the part that runs in our area. And if you know me even a little you know that I'm not really an outdoor-sy kind of girl. I love the look of nature and in my mind it's fun but I am terrified of snakes and creepy crawlies and heaven forbid anything that could actually eat me. But the kids had enjoyed it several weeks prior when they went just with Daddy so I felt pretty safe and also figured Philip would kill anything that came near me.
Well luckily I didn't have to worry about that. All my worries were poured into my crazy son who has no fear or sense AT ALL. Several times he almost went sliding down a steep hill/cliff. I cried several times at the thought of losing a child or a husband.
Little did I know when I took this picture but at the top of this cliff Ash would almost fall. The rail stops at a certain point and Ash kept playing, not listening and almost went over the side. Thankfully he caught himself. I cried and had a heart attack.
This is the second time I cried. Philip went romping down this steep cliff, sliding a little along the way and my single parent life flashed before my eyes, it wasn't pretty y'all.
And this was pretty much the end of my worries cause I told Philip I'd kill him if he let anything happen to himself or any of the children so we were square after that and had a nice peaceful time, sort of. You'll see below the steep hills we had to climb to get down to some really beautiful areas, and then had to climb back up.

This is one of those steep areas I was talking about.
Isn't this just gorgeous!!!
They were just told we were going to get milkshakes!!
We were out there for about 4 hours, it was so much fun even though I sweated and huffed and puffed a lot. By the end I was so tired and sore. We all went to bed early and easily that night. We plan on going back again and again. Summer should be interesting.
