Last night I attended a cookie exchange party with some great friends. I made these Lime Meltaway cookies that were divine, I promise to post very soon, but I haven't been able to get these cookie/candy thingys I made last year (numerous times) and Friday night. They keep calling my name. Below is the post I did last year on them and of course if they are calling my name you must make them yourself.
Last Christmas a friend gave me a goodie bag of yummy baked goodness and began my new favorite sweet...Saltine Supremes!! What you may ask is a Saltine Supreme and is it a cookie or candy? I don't really know, I suppose it's a little of both.
So what you do is line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil (shiny side up) and curl up foil around the edges. Place saltine crackers side by side, cutting if necessary, to cover the entire sheet. In saucepan melt 1 c. butter and 1 c. sugar and bring to boil until butter is no longer separated. Pour mixture over saltine crackers and spread out evenly. Use a spatula to separate each cracker. Do this to help the yumminess get under the cracker, trust me.
Bake in 400 oven for 5 minutes. Mixture will puff up and move crackers slightly, this is ok and you can move them back. Sprinkle chocolate chips over crackers. Once softened spread evenly over crackers. Sprinkle toffee bits over chocolate. Place in refrigerator (or in super cold room/garage) to cool completely and chocolate is firm. Once cool break apart and chow down!!
Saltine Supremes
1 c. butter
1c. sugar
Saltine Crackers (about 1 1/2 sleeves)
Bag of Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Bag of Heath toffee bits
I made these and several other cookies to take to my family, I hope they enjoy them!! Let me know if you make them and how you like'em.

We do something similar with graham crackers, but I've never tried saltines. Thanks!
